Rep. Lydia Glaize Touts Governor’s Announcement for Hyundai, Kia Supplier to Invest in Manufacturing Facility in Coweta

ATLANTA – State Representative Lydia Glaize (D-Fairburn) touts Governor Brian Kemp’s recent announcement that Hyundai Industrial Co., Ltd., a worldwide auto parts supplier, will create 100 new jobs and invest more than $24 million in a new manufacturing facility near Newnan in Coweta County.

“It’s inspiring to witness the growth of new cutting-edge manufacturing and technology companies in Georgia, particularly in House District 67,” said Rep. Glaize. “Dr. Evan Horton, superintendent of the Coweta County school system, along with the dedicated Coweta County school board and neighboring counties, are successfully preparing their graduates to seamlessly transition into Georgia’s thriving job market. However, there remains great potential for us to achieve more through collaborative public-private partnerships dedicated to workforce development. Among our proudest accomplishments in Newnan is the Central Education Center, led by CEO Mark Whitlock, and I commend Governor Brian Kemp for his efforts to create more jobs and opportunities for hardworking Georgians in Coweta and across the state.”

Headquartered in Ulsan, Korea, Hyundai Industrial manufactures automotive car seats, arm rests and head rests that not only provide comfort but also play an important role in motor vehicle safety. The company recently purchased an existing building located at 83 Amlajack Way in Coweta County that will be retrofitted to produce arm and head rests for original equipment manufacturers, including Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. Hyundai Industrial’s mission is to create safer and more comfortable experiences through developing innovative products on the basis of talent and advanced technology while simultaneously fostering mutual growth for both its employees and the community.

Representative Lydia Glaize represents the citizens of District 67, which includes portions of Coweta and Fulton counties. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Education, Higher Education and Information and Audits committees.
