ATLANTA— State Representative Lynne Riley (R-Johns Creek) today released the following statements regarding proposed legislation to redraw the district lines for the Fulton County Commission:
“As Chairman of the Fulton County Legislative Delegation, I will introduce legislation tomorrow that will redraw the Fulton County Commission districts to reflect changing population trends within the county, as required by our U.S. Constitution. Due to the tremendous growth our county has experienced, this legislation will add a new district seat to the Commission. This will result in six district seats and one chairman elected at large. This action falls in line with the county’s history of adding districts to reflect increases in population. The resulting map is fair, complies with constitutional and federal mandates, respects precinct boundaries and communities of interests, and consists of compact districts.”
