ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Marcus Wiedower (R-Watkinsville) as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.
“I am excited about the opportunity Speaker Burns has given me, and I fully intend to be a good steward of resources in this role,” said Rep. Wiedower. “I look forward to working together with our state agencies to ensure our government continues to function in an efficient and effective manner for the people of Georgia.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
Under the authority of the House Appropriations Committee, the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government specifically considers portions of the state budget that impact various state agencies, such as the Department of Revenue, Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Driver Services.

Representative Marcus Wiedower represents the citizens of District 121, which includes portions of Clarke and Oconee counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.
