Rep. Marcus Wiedower Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2019-2020 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Marcus Wiedower (R-Watkinsville) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 14, 2019, marking his first day of the 2019-2020 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 155th legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly.

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Wiedower to the Higher Education, Transportation and Intragovernmental Coordination committees.

“I could not be more pleased with these committee assignments, as they directly reflect two main focuses of my campaign: education and transportation,” said Rep. Wiedower. “I’m excited to be able to represent our community on these committees as they’re important to our children’s futures and our overall quality of life.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

 Representative Marcus Wiedower represents the citizens of District 119, which includes portions of Clarke and Oconee counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves on the Higher Education, Transportation and Intragovernmental Coordination committees.
