ATLANTA – State Representative Pedro Marin (D-Duluth) will hold a press conference to announce a new Atlanta sports team, Atlanta Fire Cricket Club, on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol.
At the press conference, Rep. Marin will be joined by Mohammed Hasan Tarek, CEO of Atlanta Fire Cricket Club. This press conference will be followed by a luncheon and meet and greet for lawmakers and guests at 11:30 a.m. in room 230 of the State Capitol.
“Georgia is a state where world-class sports take center stage,” said Rep. Marin. “I’m thrilled to welcome Atlanta Fire Cricket Club to our great state.”
“Atlanta Fire Cricket Club’s core mission is to elevate cricket’s popularity and represent Atlanta as the premier professional club throughout the United States,” said Tarek. “Atlanta Fire Cricket Club hopes to function as a first division club to foster cricket development in Georgia and provide opportunities for players residing in the United States to develop into professional cricketers.”
