ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), recently named State Representative Martin Momtahan (R-Dallas) to serve on the Judiciary Committee for the 2025-2026 legislative term.
“I am very grateful to Speaker Burns for appointing me to the Judiciary Committee,” said Rep. Momtahan. “As we work to keep Georgia the number one place to work, live and raise a family, it is equally vital that we continue working to keep our state safe and secure. I am honored to serve alongside Chairman Gunter and the other esteemed members of the Judiciary Committee in passing sound policy with the goal of protecting Georgia’s families and citizens across the state.”
The House Judiciary Committee considers a wide variety of measures relating to law, courts, judges and constitutional amendments. Any legislation that carries a possibility for civil penalties can be referred to the Judiciary Committee.

Representative Martin Momtahan represents the citizens of District 17, which includes a portion of Paulding County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Interstate Cooperation Committee and as Secretary of the Special Rules Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Creative Arts & Entertainment, Judiciary, Governmental Affairs and Motor Vehicles committees.
