Rep. Mary Ann Santos Introduces House Resolution to Establish the House Study Committee on One-way Street Markings

ATLANTA – State Representative Mary Ann Santos (D-McDonough) recently introduced House Resolution 399, which would create the House Study Committee on One-way Street Markings.

“This committee will focus on exploring ways to improve the clarity and visibility of one-way street signs, particularly for new drivers, seniors and individuals who are unfamiliar with our streets,” said Rep. Santos. “It is my hope that this study will highlight the urgent need for better one-way street markings, ultimately helping to prevent accidents and safeguard lives by ensuring that everyone can navigate our streets safely.”

If adopted, the House Study Committee on One-way Street Markings would be tasked with conducting a comprehensive study to identify best practices for pavement markings on one-way streets. This study would include determining which one-way streets should be marked with roadway paint and assessing the fiscal impact of any legislative requirements related to these markings. The committee would be required to submit a report of their findings and recommendations no later than December 1, 2025.
