Rep. Matt Reeves Recognized for Effective Lawmaking

ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) was recently recognized by the Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL), a group of scholars from the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University, as the fourth most effective House member out of 180 and the top freshman House lawmaker for the 2023-2024 legislative term.

“I’m honored to be recognized by the Center for Effective Lawmaking as the fourth most effective House member and for my work during the 2023-2024 legislative term,” said Rep. Reeves. “Since day one, my focus has been on delivering results for my constituents and working across the aisle to pass meaningful legislation that improves lives across our community. I’m especially grateful to Speaker Jon Burns and House leadership for their support, which has made my three years in the Georgia House truly impactful for the people of Gwinnett County and all Georgians. I look forward to continuing to serve our state with integrity, accountability and purpose.”

“Once Matt Reeves was sworn in as a state representative, he rolled up his sleeves and got to work,” said Chairman Rob Leverett (R-Elberton), who works closely with Rep. Reeves in his roles as Chief Deputy Majority Whip and a member of House leadership. “His tireless efforts produced multiple pieces of legislation that delivered good public policy for the people of his district and the state.”

Rep. Reeves, who is now serving in his second term, represents Suwanee, Duluth and Sugar Hill in Gwinnett County and serves as Vice Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
