ATLANTA – House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) recently appointed State Representative Matthew Gambill (R-Cartersville), who also serves as a Governor’s Floor Leader, to serve as vice chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government.
“I want to thank Speaker Burns for giving me the opportunity to serve as vice chair of this important appropriations subcommittee,” said Rep. Gambill. “This is a responsibility I do not take lightly as the decisions we make directly impact how Georgia’s tax dollars are managed and invested. I look forward to working with my colleagues during the upcoming legislative session to prioritize our state’s resources in a way that strengthens the efficiency and effectiveness of our general government operations and best serves the people of Georgia.”

Representative Matthew Gambill represents the citizens of District 15, which includes a portion of Bartow County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves as a Governor’s Floor Leader, Vice Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and Vice Chairman of the Economic Development & Tourism Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development, Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Higher Education, Human Relations & Aging, Insurance and Natural Resources & Environment committees.
