ATLANTA—State Representative Tom McCall (R-Elberton) announced today the introduction of House Resolution 51, which names Wednesday, February 16, 2011, “Youth Equine Day” at the State Capitol.
“It is important to recognize these young people who have taken an active interest in horsemanship,” said Rep. McCall. “These extraordinary individuals participate in school events as well as national and international equine competitions. They are the future of the equine industry and I commend them for their efforts.”
“Youth Equine Day” honors all young Georgians who have excelled with their horses over the past year. These youth serve as ambassadors of Georgia when participating in world and national equine events, as well as state championships, 4-H championships, high school rodeos, and barrel racing competitions. Through their involvement with equine programs, these children have learned how to responsibly take care of animals.
