ATLANTA – State Representative Mesha Mainor (D-Atlanta) encourages eligible Georgians to participate in COVID-19 vaccination efforts in House District 56, including Fulton County’s Health Equity Initiative. This initiative seeks to ensure access to COVID-19 vaccines for low income and/or minority residents.
“I encourage every citizen of Georgia to get vaccinated,” said Rep. Mainor. “My 15 year old daughter is an athlete and wants to protect herself with the vaccine because wearing a mask is not required by all school districts or sports organizations, and she received her first dose as a clinical trial for children. I encourage other eligible residents in House District 56 to also schedule an appointment to receive their vaccine as soon as possible.”
Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts recently announced the county’s Health Equity Initiative. The Fulton County Board of Health will set aside 2,500 vaccines per month for the next six months to get a diverse community of residents vaccinated. The initiative will also provide transportation for seniors to vaccination appointments.
Eligible residents can make an online appointment to receive their vaccine at the Mercedes Benz Stadium vaccination site. Residents over 65 years old and those who do not have internet access may call 404-613-8150 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays to schedule an appointment.
