Rep. Mesha Mainor to Host “First Amendment, Free Speech Rally” Discussion at State Capitol

ATLANTA – State Representative Mesha Mainor (R-Atlanta) will host a “First Amendment, Free Speech Rally” discussion on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 9 – 11 a.m. in room 341 of the State Capitol in Atlanta.

“We are in unprecedented times when a person’s voice is silenced, and our constitution’s freedom of speech rights are violated,” said Rep. Mainor. “It’s concerning to hear about the perceived silencing of political opinions on social media. While platforms aim to curb disinformation, the line between moderating false information and suppressing legitimate viewpoints is detrimental to democracy. Balancing free speech with responsible content moderation is a complex issue, and it’s essential to ensure that all voices, regardless of political affiliation, are heard and respected.”

Rep. Mainor will be joined by guests Brandon Straka, WalkAway Campaign; Bishop B. Dwayne Hardin, The Embassy; Shani Robinson, former Atlanta public school teacher; LA Pink, The Street Groomers; Matt Taibbi, who will discuss government and technology censorship and others.

Rep. Mainor’s “First Amendment, Free Speech Rally” discussion seeks to bring light to censorship, hyper-partisanship and the consequential effects of silencing the voices of American citizens.
