Rep. Michelle Au to Launch Listening Tour Across House District 50

ATLANTA – State Representative Michelle Au (D-Johns Creek) today announced that she is launching a comprehensive listening tour across House District 50, which includes the city of Johns Creek and a portion of Alpharetta, aimed at fostering conversations with constituents. Titled “Conversations with Representative Dr. Michelle Au,” this initiative seeks to underscore Rep. Au’s commitment to understanding the diverse needs and aspirations of the communities she serves. The first event will take place on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Divine Coffee in Johns Creek.

Rep. Au will engage with residents in a roundtable-style discussion designed to encourage meaningful conversations. This event marks the beginning of a series of gatherings across the district, each offering constituents an opportunity to voice their concerns, share their ideas and ask questions directly to Rep. Au. She has dedicated her legislative work to improving healthcare, education and gun safety and invites all residents of House District 50 to participate in these upcoming events.

“The well-being and health of our community is always my focus,” said Rep. Au. “In this polarized climate, it’s important to remember we all want the same things, and we can achieve healthy, safe, thriving communities when we work together. Please join me and your neighbors in a roundtable discussion to share your concerns and ideas, learn what’s happening at the Capitol and what’s at stake for the issues you care about most.”

Rep. Au is a physician, mother and advocate serving as the State Representative for Georgia House District 50. Elected first to the State Senate in 2020 and then elected, after redistricting in 2021, to the State House in 2022, Rep. Au has been an advocate for healthcare reform, education and gun safety at the Capitol. She seeks to bring a unique perspective to the legislature, grounded in her experience as a healthcare provider, second-generation Chinese American, mother and published author.

Furthermore, Rep. Au serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Public Health and Special Rules Committees. She is also the co-chair of the bi-partisan General Assembly Working Group on Addiction and Recovery, chair of the bi-partisan General Assembly AAPI Caucus and an appointed member of the House Study Committee on Alternatives to Opioids for Pain Management.
