ATLANTA – State Representative Mickey Stephens (D-Savannah) was recently nominated for the induction into the Savannah State University (SSU) Foundation Hall of Fame. SSU chose to recognize Rep. Stephens for his civic service, including his commitment to the community and for his efforts in supporting the education of youth and adults.
“It is such an honor to receive this recognition from Savannah State University,” said Rep. Stephens. “Savannah State is such an integral part of our community, and I always proud to work with them to better our community.”
The induction ceremony will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Savannah State University King-Frazier Student Center Ballroom. This event will also serve as the Awards Ceremony for the 2016 scholarship recipients of the SSU Foundation, Inc.
The Savannah State University Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation that supports the overall preservation and enhancement of Savannah State University.

Representative Mickey Stephens represents the citizens of District 165, which includes portions of Chatham County.
