ATLANTA – State Representative Tom Taylor (R- Dunwoody), Chairman of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Overview Committee (MARTOC), recently named State Representative. Mike Glanton (D-Jonesboro) as Chairman of the Information Technology and Infrastructure Subcommittee. This joint state House and Senate committee is responsible for providing oversight of MARTA and its annual budget.
“I was both surprised and humbled to learn of my appointment as Chairman of the Information Technology and Infrastructure Subcommittee of MARTOC, a joint House and Senate committee,” said Rep. Glanton. “I appreciate Chairman Taylor’s confidence in my leadership, and I look forward to further serving the House of Representatives, MARTA and the State of Georgia.”
MARTOC is a statutory committee with oversight of the MARTA budget. As a joint committee with the House and Senate, MARTOC does not handle legislation nor do the members have a vote on the MARTA Board of Directors.

Representative Mike Glanton represents the citizens of District 75, which includes portions of Clayton County. He was first elected into the House of Representatives in 2006, and was re-elected in 2012. He currently serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education and the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Education, MARTOC, and Public Safety & Homeland Security committees.
