ATLANTA – State Representative Mike Wilensky (D-Dunwoody) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 14, 2019, marking his first day of the 2019-2020 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 155th legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly.
In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Wilensky to the Judiciary, Budget & Fiscal Affairs Oversight and Intragovernmental Coordination committees.
“I am honored to represent the citizens of district 79 and look forward to serving on these great committees on behalf of my constituents and all Georgians,” said Rep. Wilensky. “These are some of the busiest House committees, and I am honored to be appointed to these committees and am eager to get to work to ensure that our kids have a safe, quality education and that our state continues to thrive.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Mike Wilensky represents the citizens of District 79, which includes portions of DeKalb County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves on the Judiciary, Budget & Fiscal Affairs Oversight and Intragovernmental Coordination committees.
