ATLANTA – State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell) today announced Ruby Bansah and Rolando Zenteno as the winners of the first annual Morgan Family Scholarship, a higher education scholarship program that is designed to aid young people in the South Cobb County community who attend Pebblebrook High School and South Cobb High School. Each year this scholarship awards select students from Austell and Mableton who demonstrate outstanding performance in both the classroom and the community.
“David and I are elated to be able to sow into the educational futures of students in our community,” says Rep. Morgan. “I’m grateful for the support of our committee and those who have contributed to the scholarship fund. I am particularly grateful to Six Flags over Georgia for serving as our major sponsor for the first year of the scholarship. I am proud of our awardees. Rolando and Ruby are incredibly smart and accomplished young people. They are a true representation of the best and brightest in our state.”

Morgan and her husband will present the inaugural scholarships at the Morgan Family Scholarship Award Ceremony, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, September 8, 2012, from 9:30-11:30 AM at the Vision For Souls Family Worship Center, located at 6519 Factory Shoals Road Southwest, Mableton, GA 30126.
