ATLANTA – State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell) recently hosted the 12th Annual District 39 Lobby Day, which provided more than 120 students with the opportunity to experience the state legislative process firsthand.
“What a joy it was to have students from Pebblebrook, South Cobb and Lindley join me at the State Capitol. They got a front row seat in the legislative process,” said Rep. Morgan. “I remain impressed with our students in South Cobb. Their insights on pending legislation help me make good decisions for my constituents. One Pebblebrook student even provided me with an idea for a bill. This was a great final District 39 Lobby Day.”
Each year Rep. Morgan hosts District 39 Lobby Day, so that constituents and students can learn about state government. More than 1,000 students have visited the State Capitol through the 12 year tradition. This year’s event was held on Thursday, February 20, 2014.
Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan represents the citizens of District 39, which includes portions of Cobb County. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2002, and currently serves on the Appropriations, Education, Governmental Affairs, Health & Human Services, and Juvenile Justice committees.
