Rep. Philip Singleton Announces Georgia House Freedom Caucus

ATLANTA – State Representative Philip Singleton (R-Sharpsburg) today announced the creation of the Georgia Freedom Caucus (GFC), which is comprised of Georgia state legislators. As a founding member of the new caucus, Rep. Singleton will serve as its first vice chair.

“Today, it is my privilege and honor to announce the creation and launch of the Georgia Freedom Caucus,” said Rep. Singleton. “Over this last year, events across our nation have highlighted how important it is to fight for liberty and limited government at the state level, including events in Virginia, New Jersey and the recent Biden Administration challenges in Texas. Real change cannot be left to only the few true conservatives in Washington D.C. The most important change, the most lasting change and the greatest check on federal government overreach must come from a grassroots movement at the state level.”

Inspired by the federal House Freedom Caucus, the GFC is the first bicameral caucus to launch among a nation-wide network of state legislative caucuses. The GFC seeks to foster an opportunity for state legislators to unite and promote liberty, limited government and constitutional conservativism. The GFC will maintain a direct relationship with its partners in the federal House Freedom Caucus.

“It is our desire to be the conscience of the Republican Party and help usher in an era where conservative principles survive past campaign season and make it into law,” added Rep. Singleton. “We believe in keeping promises and legislating in a way that serves the people of Georgia and the cause of freedom.”

Representative Philip Singleton represents the citizens of District 71, which includes portions of Fayette and Coweta counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2019 and currently serves as Secretary of the State Planning & Community Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications and Transportation committees.
