ATLANTA – State Representative Brad Raffensperger (R-Johns Creek) announced today his recent completion of the Republican Leadership for Georgia (RLG) program as a member of the 2015 class. The RLG is designed to produce trained leaders who are willing to serve and assist others, are committed to the tradition of full participation in the political process, and believe in Republican principles.
“I am very grateful that RLG Alum and former Johns Creek City Councilmember Ivan Figueroa nominated me for the RLG Class of 2015,” said Rep. Raffensperger. “This is an outstanding program that is building and reinforcing conservative political principles, and it is a high honor to have been selected by the Committee as a member of the Class of 2015.”
Based on the vision of the late Senator Paul Coverdell, the RLG program continues the role historically undertaken by the former Coverdell Leadership Institute (CLI) consisting primarily of 10 monthly weekend sessions held throughout Georgia and Washington, D.C. from September through June. The sessions cover a range of topics, including constitutional, ethical, criminal justice, national and international affairs, and legislative issues and processes.
“In traveling across Georgia and learning from my classmates, I have a better understanding of the regional challenges and opportunities of our great state,” said Rep. Raffensperger. “RLG is a great organization, and I am humbled to be part of the RLG alumni family.”
Representative Brad Raffensperger represents the citizens of District 50, which includes portions of Fulton County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2015 and currently serves on the Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications, Juvenile Justice, and Intragovernmental Coordination committees.
