Rep. Ruwa Romman Receives Committee Assignments for the 2025-2026 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), recently named State Representative Ruwa Romman (D-Duluth) to serve on the Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications, Information and Audits and Interstate Cooperation committees.

“I am grateful for leadership’s support and belief in me to carry out these important roles,” said Rep. Romman. “I am honored to retain my leadership positions and sit on House committees that will enable my colleagues and I to work on issues that matter most to Georgians. I will do all that I can for the betterment of my district and our state.”

Additionally, Rep. Romman will serve again as a deputy whip for the Georgia House Democratic Caucus and as the parliamentarian of the Gwinnett County Legislative Delegation.

Representative Ruwa Romman represents the citizens of District 97, which includes a portion of Gwinnett County. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Information and Audits and Interstate Cooperation committees.
