ATLANTA – The Georgia House Democratic Caucus elected State Representative Sam Park (D-Lawrenceville) to serve as the House Minority Whip for the 2023-2024 legislative term.
“I am proud and honored to be the first Asian American to serve in a leadership position,” said Minority Whip Park. “I have helped lead our caucus through challenging moments like redistricting and have worked closely with our leadership team. This caucus is the vanguard for change, and our diversity is our strength. We stand united in our common cause of creating a better Georgia, and I will work tirelessly in this role to serve each member of our caucus.”
Minority Whip Park is responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and helping the members of the Minority Caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.
This is Minority Whip Park’s fourth term in the Georgia House of Representatives and his first term as the Minority Whip.
Representative Sam Park currently represents the citizens of District 101, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 and currently serves as the House Minority Caucus Whip. He also serves on the Higher Education, Industry and Labor, Intragovernmental Coordination and Small Business Development committees.
