Rep. Sam Watson Named Secretary of House Natural Resources & Environment Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Sam Watson (R-Moultrie) as the Secretary of the House Natural Resources & Environment Committee.  Rep. “I am honored that the Speaker and the members of the Committee on Assignments selected me to serve as the Secretary of a committee that is very important to Rural Georgia,” said Rep. Watson. “As a farmer in South Georgia, I depend on our state’s natural resources to help grow my crops; therefore, I understand just how important natural resources are to agriculture, our state’s largest industry.”

The House Natural Resources & Environment Committee, chaired by Rep. Lynn Smith (R-Newnan), is assigned legislation pertaining to management, quality, and usage of Georgia’s natural resources.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
