Rep. Samuel Park Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2017-2018 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Samuel Park (D-Lawrenceville) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2017, marking his first day of the 2017-2018 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 154th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I am humbled and honored to serve my friends and neighboring in District 101 and Gwinnett County,” said Rep. Park.  “Thank you for this opportunity.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Park to the Industry and Labor; Intragovernmental Coordination; and Small Business Development committees.

“I look forward to working with my Republican and Democratic colleagues to serve our communities by finding common ground, and working as Georgians to reach our full potential as the economic and moral leader of the South,” added Rep. Park.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Samuel Park represents the citizens of District 101, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2016, and currently serves on the Industry and Labor, Intragovernmental Coordination, and Small Business Development committees.
