ATLANTA – The House Democratic Caucus elected State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) to serve as the House Minority Caucus Chief Deputy Whip during caucus elections on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
“I thank my colleagues for trusting me to carry out the duties of chief deputy whip,” said Minority Chief Deputy Whip Scott. “Georgians deserve political leadership that prioritizes citizens before their own interests, and we are closer than ever before to becoming the leading force under the Gold Dome. I look forward to working with Minority Whip Park as we strengthen the vision and the voting power of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus.”
Minority Chief Deputy Whip Scott is responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and helping the members of the Minority Caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.
This will be Minority Chief Deputy Whip Scott’s seventh term in the Georgia House of Representatives and her first term as Minority Caucus Chief Deputy Whip.
Representative Sandra Scott currently represents the citizens of District 76, which includes portions of Clayton and Henry counties. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as the House Minority Caucus Chief Deputy Whip. She also serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, Science and Technology and Special Rules committees.
