Rep. Sandra Scott to Host “Fight Against Human Trafficking” Event at Morrow Middle School

ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) will host a “Fight Against Human Trafficking” event on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 2:45 p.m. at Morrow Middle School in Morrow, Georgia.

“Human trafficking is one of the darkest and most pervasive injustices of our time,” said Rep. Scott. “It affects millions worldwide and thousands in the United States, robbing individuals—men, women and children—of their freedom and dignity. But together, we have the power to shine a light on this issue and drive meaningful change. I, State Representative Sandra Givens Scott, Chairwoman of the National Foundation of Women Legislators, will join Morrow Middle in bringing awareness to the young women and men that we must put an end to human trafficking, child labor and sexual exploitation.

The Red Sand Project provides a simple yet profound way to raise awareness about human trafficking,” added Rep. Scott. “By filling cracks in sidewalks with red sand, we symbolize our collective commitment to ensuring no victim falls through the cracks of society. These events are more than symbolic—they are a rallying cry, uniting communities in education, awareness and action.”
