ATLANTA – State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) will present House bills 154 and 110 before their respective House subcommittees TODAY, Wednesday, February 14, 2023. The subcommittee hearing schedule is as follows:
- House Regulated Industries Regulatory Subcommittee Hearing on House Bill 154 – TODAY, Wednesday, February 14, 2023, at 2 p.m. in Room 406 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building in Atlanta;
- House Judiciary Non-Civil Leverett Subcommittee Hearing on House Bill 110 – TODAY, Wednesday, February 14, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 132 of the State Capitol.
House Bill 154 would enter Georgia into the Cosmetology Licensure Compact to allow cosmetology certifications to be recognized any state that also participates in this compact. Through this legislation, Rep. Scott seeks to support spouses who work in the cosmetology field and relocate often due to their family’s involvement in the U.S. military. This legislation is assigned to the House Regulated Industries Committee.
House Bill 110 would require the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government to establish and maintain a tracking system and searchable public website that lists property seized by law enforcement in Georgia; law enforcement agencies would be required to report its civil seizure and forfeiture cases to the public website. This legislation is assigned to the House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee.
