ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) today issued the following statement on the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe:
“It was devastating to learn of the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Prime Minister Abe was a strong advocate of the Japan-U.S. relationship not only in politics but also economics, culture, education and person-to-person exchange. As a member of the Georgia Japan Caucus, our hearts and prayers are with our friends in Japan as we mourn his passing.”
Representative Kim Schofield represents the citizens of District 60, which includes portions of Clayton and Fulton counties. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2017 and currently serves on the Health & Human Services, Interstate Cooperation, Information and Audits and Small Business Development committees.
