ATLANTA – State Representative Kim Schofield (D-Atlanta) will participate in the unveiling of the “Loved Ones Not Numbers” memorial wall to honor those who have died from COVID-19 in Georgia TODAY, Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, participation is limited and registration is required; to register for the march, please click here.
Rep. Schofield will stand in solidarity with the Georgia Coalition 2 Save Lives at the unveiling of memorial wall, which features 5,000 broken hearts. Additionally, the unveiling ceremony will be followed by a candlelight march and vigil. The march will start at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights and finish at the Georgia State Capitol.
Participants are encouraged to bring a candle to honor the lives that have been lost to COVID-19 in Georgia. Participants will be required to wear a mask or face covering and practice social distancing.
“Our loved ones have names,” said Rep. Schofield. “They are our mothers, fathers, grandparents, daughters, sons, cousins, co-workers, students and teachers whose lives were taken way too soon. Enough is enough. We must put people over politics.”
