Rep. Segun Adeyina Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2023-2024 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Segun Adeyina (D-Grayson) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 9, 2023, marking his first day of the 2023-2024 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 157th Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

“By serving on my appointed committees, I intend to contribute in making sure that the laws we pass keep Georgia a world class state and always support Georgia and its constituents,” said Rep. Adeyina. “Education is one of the best ways to ensure that Georgia’s future always come first, but we must first create policies that allow students to excel with knowledge and skills for the future. Excellence is achieved through knowledge and skill. As such, I am especially looking forward to serving on the House Education Committee.”

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Adeyina to the Education, Special Rules and Technology and Infrastructure Innovation committees. 

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives. 

Representative Segun Adeyina represents the citizens of District 110, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Education, Special Rules and Technology and Infrastructure Innovation committees.
