ATLANTA – State Representative Sheila Jones (D-Atlanta) recently partnered with Republic Services Atlanta Division to deliver holiday meals and gifts to the children and families of Usher-Collier Elementary School and Woodson Primary Elementary School.
“It is great to see companies that give back to the community and are good corporate stewards,” said Representative Sheila Jones. “Republic has a great presence in this district and we’re happy to have them in our community. Our schoolchildren deserve the best, and it was wonderful to spend some time with principals McClendon and Parks learning about the needs of their schools.”
Rep. Jones and Larson Richardson of Republic Services visited the schools on December 18, 2014 to deliver turkeys and side dishes, as well as clothing and toys, for needy families.
“Republic Services has a commitment to the neighborhoods that we service and the community in which we work. It was a pleasure to partner with our state representative, Sheila Jones, to deliver some holiday cheer to Woodson Primary and Usher Collier Elementary,” said Larson Richardson, General Manager of Republic Services Atlanta. “We look forward to continuing our partnership and to giving back to our schools and the wider community.”
Republic Services, the second largest waste management company in the country, has an Atlanta division located on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, in the 53rd State House district.
Representative Sheila Jones represents the citizens of District 53, which includes portions of Cobb and Fulton counties. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2004, and currently serves on the Appropriations, Health & Human Services, Juvenile Justice, and Transportation committees.
