Rep. Sheila Jones’ Resolution Recognizes September as Children & Youth Month

ATLANTA – State Representative Sheila Jones (D-Atlanta) sponsored House Resolution 556 during the 2017 legislative session recognizing the month of September as Children & Youth Month in Georgia.

“As September approaches, I want to remind citizens that HR 556 named the month of September is Children & Youth Month in Georgia,” said Rep. Jones. “Children are our most valuable asset, and it is especially important that Georgians recognize our youth this September and all year long. I hope that citizens across our state will take the opportunity in September to give back to Georgia’s children in some way.”

HR 556 celebrates the achievements and capabilities of Georgia’s youth by recognizing September as Children & Youth month in Georgia. Georgia is home to more than 2.5 million children under 18-years-old, and HR 556 encourages all citizens to acknowledge and honor Georgia’s children. HR 556 was adopted by the Georgia House of Representatives on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
