Atlanta, GA – Rep. Steve Davis (R – McDonough) was elected today as Chairman of the Henry County Legislative Delegation by his fellow legislative members for the 2009-10 term.
“I am humbled that my peers have elected me to lead this delegation and I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues, our locally elected officials and the many civic organizations to effectively represent Henry County and its residents,” said Rep. Davis. “I will be actively engaged on the many issues that affect our community and I look forward to the challenges that are ahead. As Chairman, I will continue to fight for the resources and infrastructure our county deserves. Furthermore, I would like to thank Representative Lunsford for his service as Chairman and his continued dedication to Henry County”.
Representative John Lunsford (R – McDonough), the immediate past chairman of the delegation, stated his support for Rep. Davis by stating “It’s been an honor to serve as Chairman for the past six years and I am confident Rep. Davis will be a strong leader for Henry County.”
Senator Douglas (R – Social Circle) added, “I look forward to working with Representative Steve Davis as the new Chairman of our Henry County legislative delegation. His energy level and dedication to the people of both the 109th district and Henry County as a whole will prove invaluable as he works as the Chairman of the delegation.”
Also today Representative Steve Davis took his oath of office and began his third term as member of the Georgia General Assembly. Rep. Davis and his family live in the Kelleytown area and are very active in their community.
