ATLANTA – State Representative Valencia Stovall (D-Forest Park) was recently appointed by Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to serve on the Joint Study Committee on the Establishment of a Leadership Academy.
“Our schools rise and fall under leadership,” said Rep. Stovall. “This joint study committee will explore ways to best support and grow our state’s future school leaders. I look forward to working alongside the members of this joint study committee as we strive towards improving educational leadership in Georgia schools.”
This study committee is created by House Bill 338 and will study the possibility of establishing a leadership academy to provide opportunities for principals and other school leaders to update and expand their leadership knowledge and skills in Georgia.

Representative Valencia Stovall represents the citizens of District 74, which includes portions of Clayton County. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves on the Economic Development & Tourism, Education, Interstate Cooperation, and Small Business Development committees.
