ATLANTA – State Representative Valencia Stovall (D-Forest Park), along with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, recently hosted a demonstration for the state’s new paper-based voting system in Clayton County. The demonstration was led by Secretary of State Election Director Chris Harvey and was accompanied by representatives from Dominion Voting.
“It was my pleasure to host this event and allow my constituents to have hands-on experience with the new system,” said Stovall. “As a supporter of the legislation passed to allow for the new system, I am looking forward to casting my ballot in the upcoming elections.”
The public event was held at the Frank Bailey Senior Center in Clayton County, where Clayton County residents were able to learn about the new system, ask questions and participate in a mock election by personally casting a mock ballot.
One demo system, which includes a ballot marking device (BMD), printer and ballot box will be in place in all 159 counties on or before October 6, 2019. All counties will have their full outfit in place before the 2020 Presidential Preference Primary on March 24, 2020.
