Rep. Tanya F. Miller Elected House Minority Caucus Chairman

ATLANTA – The Georgia House Democratic Caucus elected State Representative Tanya F. Miller (D-Atlanta) as the House Minority Caucus Chairman for the 2025-2026 legislative term during caucus elections on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

“Thank you to my fellow colleagues for electing me to serve as the Democratic Caucus Chair,” said Rep. Miller. “The election has reminded us of the danger we face when we do not prioritize democracy. We cannot afford to sit back while our constituents express their fears and concerns. In fact, we will fight even harder to protect Georgians’ rights, and I know that we will work to find solutions to our great state’s concerns. I am eager to return to the Capitol in January where we will focus on legislation to protect the well-being and livelihood of our constituents – because that is what they deserve.”

In this position, Rep. Miller will lead the House Minority Caucus’ operations. She will preside over the Minority Caucus meetings, oversee incumbent re-elections and spearhead candidate recruitment, among other responsibilities.

This will be Rep. Miller’s second term in the Georgia House of Representatives and her first term as the Minority Caucus Chairman.

Representative Tanya F. Miller currently represents the citizens of District 62, which includes portions of Fulton County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Code Revision, Information and Audits and Judiciary Non-Civil committees.
