ATLANTA – State Representative Timothy Barr (R-Lawrenceville) was recently appointed to serve as the Chairman of one of two Code Revision Subcommittees.
“I have served on the Code Revision Committee since my first term in the Georgia House of Representatives, and I am honored to be appointed to this leadership position on the subcommittee,” said Rep. Barr. “I look forward to working with my fellow committee and subcommittee members as we carefully review legislation as it comes through this committee.”
The House Code Revision Committee is responsible for technical and grammatical revisions of Georgia’s statutes. Its goal is to revise, modernize, and correct errors or omissions in Georgia’s Code and to repeal those portions which have become obsolete, have been declared to be unconstitutional, or have been preempted or superseded by subsequent laws. The Official Code of Georgia Annotated or OCGA is the compilation of all laws in the state.
