ATLANTA – State Representative Todd Jones (R-South Forsyth), chairman of the House Technology and Infrastructure Innovation Committee, was recently named by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to serve as chairman of the House Study Committee on Georgia’s Investment Funds.
“As the number one state to do business, it’s only fitting that we should also strive to make Georgia a top investment capital,” said Chairman Jones. “I am thankful to my legislative colleagues and Speaker Jon Burns for their continued support in maintaining Georgia’s business industry and economy as strong competitors both nationally and world-wide. It is important that we evaluate how to expand access to growth capital investments and support the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. This committee will explore ways to build on the success of programs like Invest Georgia and continue to make recommendations for future economic growth.”
Established by House Resolution 557, this study committee will study ways to attract more investment capital and examine conditions for potential enhancement of growth capital investments.
Speaker Burns also appointed the following study committee members: State Representatives Dar’shun Kendrick (D-Lithonia), Lehman Franklin (R-Statesboro), Stacey Evans (D-Atlanta) and Ron Stephens (R-Savannah).
Representative Todd Jones represents the citizens of District 25, which includes portions of Forsyth and Fulton counties. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 and currently serves as Chairman of the Technology and Infrastructure Innovation Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, Education, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Health, Judiciary and Ways & Means committees, as well as the Special Committee on Resource Management.
