Rep. Tonya Anderson and Women’s Caucus Host Servant Leadership Award Breakfast at State Capitol

ATLANTA – State Representative Tonya Anderson (D-Lithonia), Chair of the Georgia Legislative Women’s Caucus, recently hosted the Servant Leadership Award Breakfast at the State Capitol. As a part of Women’s History Month, the Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus held its Servant Leadership Award Breakfast to recognize all honorees of the Servant Leadership Award.

“It was an honor to host the Servant Leadership Award Breakfast and be in the same company as so many outstanding women,” said Rep. Anderson. “All of these women are true leaders in their communities and in Georgia, and it was a pleasure to welcome them to the State Capitol as we celebrate Women’s History Month.”

At the Servant Leadership Award Breakfast, the Georgia Legislative Women’s Caucus recognized the First Lady of the Georgia Senate, Nita Cagle. Cagle spoke at the Servant Leadership Awards Breakfast, which honored all recipients of the Servant Leadership Award.

The Georgia Legislative Women’s Caucus Servant Leadership Award is given to women who have shown invaluable service to their communities and to the State of Georgia. This year’s recipients include: Brigid Scarbrough, Cassandra Crum, Edith Biggers, Helene S. Mills, Jannquell Peters, Jessie Goree, Pastor Jill Jeffries, June O’Neal, LaFaye Copeland, Marion Butler, Mildred Pope, Mildred Clemons Schmelz, Judge Nancy Bills, Na’Taki Osborne Jelks, MPH, Pamela Franklin Stegall, Regina M. McDuffie, Rosalyn Shavers, Sharon R. Fort, Tisa Smart-Washington, Tish Naghise, Tonie Sanders, Vicky Partin, Y’vonne Benton, Vanessa Riley Harris, Cassandra Brinson, Liane Levetan, and Janice Dixon.
Rep. Anderson also introduced House Resolution 609 to commend these recipients of the Georgia Legislative Women’s Caucus Servant Leadership Award and recognize March as Women’s History Month.

Representative Tonya Anderson represents the citizens of District 92, which includes portions of Rockdale and DeKalb counties. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves on the Defense and Veteran Affairs, Intragovernmental Coordination, Regulated Industries, and Special Rules committees.
