ATLANTA— State Representative Valencia Stovall (D-Lake City) will host the Men and Women in Radio Broadcasting Day at the State Capitol on Monday, January 12, 2015, the first day of the 2015 legislative session. This event recognizes the role that radio has played in society and in Georgia.
“It is indeed a privilege to recognize the producers of radio shows, blog talk radio, internet radio, podcast station managers, disc jockeys, radio hosts, traffic reporters and the staff who work behind the scenes,” said Rep. Stovall. “Radio brings so much to its listening audience: music, weather, news and commentary; it has enlightened and encouraged debate on issues that affect all citizens. Radio has always been an important medium to keep the country informed on what is going on in the world, and it remains a crucial way to transmit messages to audiences today.”
In recognition of Men and Women in Broadcasting Day at the State Capitol, various stations will be broadcasting live from the south wing of the Capitol and interviewing Representatives, Senators, and visitors throughout the day.
