ATLANTA – State Representative Viola Davis (D-Stone Mountain) announces the success of the recent senior community event held at the Pink Lion Jazz Club within the New Black Wall Street Market, in collaboration with the Georgia Council on Aging and the DeKalb County House and Senate Office of Constituent Services. This event brought together seniors from the community to enjoy an afternoon of music, fellowship, dance and educational information.
“I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Rep. Regina Lewis Ward from House District 115, a new member of the DeKalb Delegation, for organizing this wonderful senior community event at the Pink Lion Jazz Club with the Georgia Council on Aging,” said Rep. Davis. “A special thank you to the Pink Lion Jazz Club for partnering with the Office of Constituent Services and allowing us and the Georgia Council on Aging to engage with the seniors, thus helping make this event a success. We were proud to provide educational materials to all attendees, empowering them with knowledge and resources to enhance their quality of life. The success of this event highlights the importance of community engagement and collaboration in supporting our senior citizens. The event featured a presentation by Debra Stokes, the Executive Director of the Georgia Council on Aging. Her session provided insights and resources to the attendees. Mildred Smeltz also played a role in providing support throughout the event.

Representative Viola Davis represents the citizens of District 87, which includes portions of DeKalb County. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves on the Defense & Veterans Affairs, Insurance, Interstate Cooperation, Natural Resources & Environment and Urban Affairs committees.
