ATLANTA – The March/April 2013 edition of James Magazine named State Representative Mark Hamilton (R-Cumming) one of the Most Influential House Members of 2013.
“I am honored and humbled to again be recognized by James Magazine but I didn’t run for this job to receive recognition; I ran to provide effective conservative leadership for the citizens of Georgia and to represent the citizens of Cumming and Forsyth County to the best of my ability. I hope any recognition I receive along the way simply means that I am accomplishing those goals,” said Rep. Hamilton.
During the recent 2013 legislative session, Rep. Hamilton became the Chairman of the House Industry and Labor Committee, after previously serving as the Chairman of the House Governmental Affairs Committee. He also became a member of the influential House Rules Committee and once again served as a member of the House Committee on Assignments.
In addition to his committee work, Rep. Hamilton authored four bills and carried a senate bill in the House, all of which were approved by the General Assembly and have now been sent to the Governor for consideration. Further, Rep. Hamilton introduced legislation naming the William Everett Bennett Memorial Interchange at GA 141 & GA 400 in Forsyth County.
James Magazine is widely considered one of the state’s top resources for Georgia political news and issues. In a list that has become an annual tradition, naming the “who’s who” of Georgia politics, the “2013 Most Influential Georgians” also includes House Speaker David Ralston (R- Blue Ridge), U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, UGA Head Football Coach Mark Richt and Coca-Cola Enterprises Chairman/CEO John Brock.
