Representative Mark Hamilton Named One of 2014’s Most Influential Georgia State Representatives

ATLANTA – The March/April 2014 edition of James Magazine named State Representative Mark Hamilton (R-Cumming) one of the Most Influential House Members of 2014. This is the fourth consecutive year that Rep. Hamilton has received this recognition.

“It is an honor to be recognized by James Magazine again this year,” said Rep. Hamilton. “I want to thank the citizens of District 24 for electing me to serve as their representative. I am honored to serve them every day and strive to always represent their interests to the best of my ability. This honor makes me want to work even harder for the wonderful citizens of Cumming and Forsyth County”

Rep. Hamilton serves as the Chairman of the House Industry and Labor Committee, and is also a member of the influential House Rules Committee. As the Industry and Labor Committee Chairman, Rep. Hamilton deals with the issues surrounding labor and management relations. This Committee also has jurisdiction on matters dealing with Worker’s Compensation and Georgia’s Worker’s Compensation Board, and Unemployment Insurance, including the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund.

In addition to his committee work, Rep. Hamilton authored and passed four bills that have gone to the Governor for consideration and carried two senate bills in the House in the recently completed 2014 legislative session. He also co-sponsored and worked on several other pieces of legislation.

James Magazine is widely considered one of the state’s top resources for Georgia political news and issues. In a list that has become an annual tradition, naming the “who’s who” of Georgia politics, the “2014 Most Influential Georgians” also includes House Speaker David Ralston (R- Blue Ridge), U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, and Coca-Cola Enterprises Chairman/CEO John Brock.

Representative Mark Hamilton represents the citizens of District 24, which includes portions of Forsyth County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2006 and currently serves as Chairman of the Industry and Labor Committee.
