ATLANTA – Today, Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced he has established two bipartisan working groups in the House of Representatives – the House Working Group on Early Childhood Education and the House Working Group on Public Safety. These working groups will work over the interim between the 2023 and 2024 legislative sessions to advance specific policy priorities.

House of Representatives Passes Fiscal Year 2024 State Budget

$4,000 Raise for State Law Enforcement; $2,000 Raise for Other Employees & Teachers

ATLANTA – Today, Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) announces that the Georgia House of Representatives has passed its version of the Fiscal Year 2024 State Budget. Speaker Jon Burns Announces $1.25 Million to Fund Georgia State Patrol Satellite Post in Buckhead Area of Atlanta

ATLANTA – Today, Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced that the House version of the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget will contain $1.25 million for the Georgia Department of Public Safety to establish and operate a Georgia State Patrol satellite post in the Buckhead area of the City of Atlanta. Speaker Burns made the announcement in conjunction with Governor Brian Kemp and Lt. Governor Burt Jones who join in support of the proposal.

Speaker Burns & Lt. Governor Jones Join with Governor Kemp to Announce Review of Georgia’s Tax Credits
