Rep. Trey Kelley to Visit Westside Elementary for “Georgia Pre-K Week”

ATLANTA – State Representative Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown) will celebrate the 21st Anniversary of Georgia’s Pre-K program this week by visiting Westside Elementary School as part of “Georgia Pre-K Week.” During his visit, Rep. Kelley will read to a group of 4-year-old pre-kindergarten students and see firsthand the learning that happens each day thanks to Georgia’s Pre-K Program.

House Passes Legislation to Enhance Consumer Protection

ATLANTA— The Georgia House of Representatives passed House Bill 289 with a vote of 175 – 1 on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Introduced by state Representative Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown), HB 289 clarifies when remittance transfers will be applicable within the Uniform Commercial Code operating under the federal Electronic Fund Transfer Act, also known as the Dodd-Frank Act.

“This is an important piece of legislation because it works for both individuals and businesses,” said Rep. Kelley. “I am glad to help improve our state’s financial climate by providing necessary certainty to our financial institutions while being in tune with consumer needs which were damaged under the federal Dodd-Frank Act.”
