ATLANTA – Today, House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced appointments to the Georgia House of Representatives’ 2025 study committees. These committees will meet throughout the interim, hear from experts, stakeholders and the public and compile a report of specific findings or legislative recommendations ahead of the 2026 legislative session.

Chairman Rob Leverett Named Most Effective Lawmaker by the Center for Effective Lawmaking

ATLANTA – State Representative Rob Leverett (R–Elberton), who serves as chairman of the House Reapportionment and Redistricting Committee, was recently ranked the most effective lawmaker in the 157th Georgia General Assembly by the Center for Effective Lawmaking (CEL), a collaborative initiative that seeks to advance the generation, communication and use of new knowledge about the effectiveness of individual lawmakers and legislative institutions across the United States.
