Governor Kemp Signs Chairman Chuck Martin’s Legislation Strengthening Georgia’s Education Sector

ATLANTA – On Monday, May 12, 2025, Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bill 38 at the Georgia State Capitol. Sponsored by State Representative Chuck Martin (R-Alpharetta), chairman of the House Higher Education Committee, HB 38 expands eligibility for the Georgia College Completion Grant Program (GCCG) to students nearing graduation and extends the program for several more years.

Speaker Jon Burns Announces Appointments to 2025 House Study Committees

ATLANTA – Today, House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced appointments to the Georgia House of Representatives’ 2025 study committees. These committees will meet throughout the interim, hear from experts, stakeholders and the public and compile a report of specific findings or legislative recommendations ahead of the 2026 legislative session.

Rep. Chuck Martin Applauds Signing of Legislation to Extend Dual Achievement Program and Support Workforce Development

ATLANTA – State Representative Chuck Martin (R-Alpharetta), chairman of the House Higher Education Committee, recently joined Governor Brian Kemp as he signed House Bill 217, legislation Rep. Martin co-sponsored that strengthens workforce development in Georgia by extending the Dual Achievement Program and improving scholarship verification and school board election rules.
