Reps. Matt Reeves and Mesha Mainor Propose the Second Chance Workforce Act

ATLANTA – State Representatives Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) and Mesha Mainor (R-Atlanta) recently introduced House Bill 926, the Second Chance Workforce Act. This legislation would allow individuals with low-level municipal citation and misdemeanor charges to keep their driver’s licenses during their cases, as long as the charges do not pertain to DUI, reckless driving or child support, so that their ability to drive to work is not interrupted.

Representative Houston Gaines Selected for 20 Under 40 Leadership Award from The Council of State Governments

ATLANTA – State Representative Houston Gaines (R-Athens) was recently selected by the Council of State Governments (CSG) as a 2023 recipient of its 20 Under 40 Leadership Award. Rep. Ceremony Held to Dedicate Vince Dooley Memorial Intersection in Downtown Athens

ATLANTA – Yesterday, the Vince Dooley Memorial Intersection was dedicated in Athens, pursuant to House Resolution 522 that passed during the 2023 session of the Georgia General Assembly. The new Vince Dooley Memorial Intersection sits at the intersection of Broad Street and Lumpkin Street in downtown Athens.

Reps. Gaines, Gullett Introduce Legislation to Hold Prosecutors Accountable

ATLANTA – State Representatives Houston Gaines (R-Athens) and Joseph Gullett (R-Dallas) today introduced legislation to ensure that district attorneys and solicitors general in Georgia are held responsible for misconduct in office. Reps.
