House Transportation Chairman Announces RTR Executive Committee Appointments

ATLANTA— House Transportation Committee Chairman Jay Roberts (R-Ocilla) today announced the House appointments to the twelve Regional Transportation Roundtable (RTR) Executive Committees. An RTR, created under HB 277- the Transportation Investment Act of 2010 – is made up of local elected officials within each of the special transportation regions.  The RTRs will determine which transportation projects go before the voters for consideration in the 2012 General Primary election.  As Chairman of the House Transportation Committee, Rep. Roberts is tasked with appointing two members of the Georgia House of Representatives to serve on each RTR Executive Committee. Continue reading

House Transportation Committee Approves Todd Long as First GDOT Director of Planning

ATLANTA – Today the House Transportation Committee approved Todd Long as the first Director of Planning at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). House Transportation Subcommittee Recommends Todd Long for Approval by Full Committee

ATLANTA – Today the House Transportation Subcommittee on Approval of the Director of Planning recommended Todd Long for approval to the full House Transportation Committee. The recommendation came in a unanimous vote following a meeting of the approval subcommittee, during which members questioned Governor Sonny Perdue’s recent appointment, Mr. Todd Long, for the position of Director of Planning at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
