Georgia DOT commits $9.1 million for two Blue Mile projects

Agency partnering with local governments to improve infrastructure in Statesboro

            ATLANTA – Georgia House of Representatives Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced Thursday, April 27, that the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has committed $9.1 million in funding for two projects associated with the Creek on the Blue Mile. The first will replace bridges or culverts over Little Lotts Creek, and the second will aid in funding the promenade/path from S. College Street to S. Zetterower Avenue.

Lt. Governor Jones and Speaker Burns Announce Appointees to Review Georgia’s Tax Credits

ATLANTA – Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones and Speaker of the House Jon Burns announce their respective appointees who will work on behalf of the Georgia General Assembly to review all Georgia tax credits, including Georgia’s film tax credit. Speaker Jon Burns Announces House Working Groups on Early Childhood Education & Public Safety

Focusing on Expanding Pre-K Access & Increasing Number of State Troopers

ATLANTA – Today, Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced he has established two bipartisan working groups in the House of Representatives – the House Working Group on Early Childhood Education and the House Working Group on Public Safety. These working groups will work over the interim between the 2023 and 2024 legislative sessions to advance specific policy priorities.
